SOLAR RAPTOR® T5 UVB
The SOLAR RAPTOR® T5 UVB tubes are T5 fluorescent tubes used as primary lighting and simultaneous UV source in terrariums.
Whether rainforest terrarium or desert terrarium, they provide the animals with natural light with a high proportion of UVB radiation. Their high light rendering ensures generous illumination.
The tubes are available in various lengths (wattages) and UV strengths – 5.0 with an increased proportion of UVB radiation and 10.0 with a high proportion of UVB radiation.
UVB is important for vitamin D3 synthesis and therefore for the bone and shell structure of reptiles. UVA is essential for well-being – increases the appetite, activity and reproductive behavior of reptiles.
Almost all reptiles that require UV radiation also need plenty of intensive daylight with high light intensity. Ideally, therefore, an additional SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp should be used alongside the SOLAR RAPTOR® T5 UVB Tubes to ensure healthy and species-appropriate development.
UV lamps need to be replaced regularly because the UV levels decrease over time during use.
The UVB T5 tubes provide reptiles with reliable UVA and UVB for about one year – after that, the fluorescent tubes should be replaced.
