Description
Our SOLAR RAPTOR® HID-Lamp GX10 is a modern UV lamp based on the latest technology of a high-pressure metal vapour lamp.
These lamps come close to the natural range of the sun. This is a much higher value than is the case with fluorescent tubes, spotlights or mixed light and metal halide lamps.
- The aluminium body dissipates excess heat and protects the spotlight from overheating.
- The additional integrated reflector increases the light reflection many times over.
- The tempered glass used prevents dust from burning into the radiator, which would hold back the radiation.
The SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp is our power lighting and helps to provide optimum care for terrarium animals. The SOLAR RAPTOR® HID-Lamp sets new standards in terms of UV stability, service life and daylight output, not least thanks to its excellent manufacturing quality.
A linear solar spectrum and a colour rendering index (CRI) of over 86 bring real sunlight into the terrarium and our HID lamp provides quasi-natural lighting conditions, which ideally supports the colour perception of the terrarium inhabitants.
They are optimally supplied with vital UV-A and UV-B. This not only promotes vitamin D3 synthesis – which is a basic requirement for the healthy development of the bones and armour of terrarium animals – but also prevents deficiency diseases.
Natural perception, appetite and willingness to mate are significantly increased by a sufficient UV supply.
Furthermore, the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp is also a powerful heat source that ensures that terrarium animals can live at truly comfortable temperatures.
When operating the HID lamp, please pay attention to this:
- SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamps must be ‘burnt in’.
When operating the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp for the first time, the lamp must be in continuous operation for at least 2 hours. This ‘burn-in’ stabilises the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp and prevents damage later on. Please never switch on the SOLAR RAPTOR® only briefly for a test as long as it is not burnt in. - The SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp requires a suitable ballast.
The HID lamp cannot be operated without a suitable ballast.
Our high-quality SOLAR RAPTOR® ECGs are recommended here. - Always use a ceramic socket (porcelain socket) and a protective cage.
The high output of our SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp naturally also generates heat at the socket. For this reason, it should only be used in a heat-resistant porcelain socket (ceramic socket). If you do not take this into account, you run the risk of dangerous melting and a high fire hazard, and the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp also belongs ‘behind bars’. A protective cage or a suitable protective grille ensures that your terrarium animals cannot come into direct contact with the SolarRaptor HID lamp.
Important: Never install the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp near flammable objects. - It is essential to ensure adequate ventilation.
Never cover the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp or the ballast. It is essential to ensure good ventilation. - Pay attention to the correct operating time.
You can significantly extend the service life of your SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp if you adhere to certain operating intervals. recommendation: Always leave the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp on for at least 8 hours before switching it off again. after 12 months at the latest with a daily operating time of around 12 hours, the SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamp should be replaced, as the UV values will deteriorate significantly from this point onwards and your terrarium animals will no longer be optimally cared for.
These SOLAR RAPTOR® HID lamps have a GX10 base and are only intended as a supplementary supply (UV/heat) for pets.
Not suitable for room lighting or as a heat source in the home.
HID = high intensity discharge
PAR = parabolic aluminized reflector
GX10 = Sockets (parallel metal pins with 10 mm spacing and a diameter of 5 mm at the pin end)
