In accordance with Section 9(1) of the Act on the Placing on the Market, Take-back and Environmentally Sound Disposal of Batteries and Accumulators (BattG), the seller hereby informs the customer that, as an end-user, they are legally obliged to return used batteries. Used batteries may be returned to the seller free of charge. The seller points out that any other party who, as a distributor, supplies batteries to end-users is also obliged to take back batteries from end-users free of charge at the point of sale or in its immediate vicinity. The take-back obligation is limited to batteries of the type that the distributor currently stocks or has previously stocked, and to the quantity that end-users would normally dispose of.
The following symbol indicates that these are batteries containing heavy metals and harmful substances, which must not be disposed of with ordinary household or commercial waste:
