Traceability according to NIST
Traceability according to NISTTraceability according to NIST means that the calibration of a UV measuring device is based on reference standards of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This ensures that the measurement results are internationally comparable, reliable and traceable
All SOLARMETER® UV measuring devices are ‘NIST traceable’ calibrated on delivery and therefore guarantee highly accurate measurements!
For technical reasons, however, UV measuring devices age over time. SOLARMETER® therefore recommends recalibrating the measuring devices after 12 months. This is the only way to ensure that older devices also measure with NIST-traceable precision.
SOLARMETER® recalibration service
SOLARMETER® offers a (chargeable) recalibration service for its handheld UV measuring devices. The device is sent in and returned after recalibration.
